Urban Life Collection \ Studio 06 Posted: 09 Sep 2012 06:07 AM PDT 2012 collection from Steel Life brand was created by the designers Roberto Guadrini, Massimo Guglielmotto and Paolo Mattiolo from Studio 06, who centered the whole concept on the idea of Urban Life. This theme is linked to strong intelectual, emotional and social interactions, for it mirrors modern cities, kindles emotions and creates a sense of belonging. The product range is composed of 10 articles designed to be placed in residential spaces and characterized by an innovative design linked to the high quality of the materials and of the manufacturing. Thanks to their versatility, all the objects can be considered both internal and external furnishing complements. Steel is the main material used for the production of the whole collection, sometimes coupled with Laminam or printed glass, materials which have been chosen to bring out certain features of the objects. The materials used are completely recyclable, choice that follows the guidelines which have always characterized Steel Life brand: care and respect for the environment. Every article represents a peculiarity of the urban environment, from manhole lids to zebra crossings, from streets to cycle paths, from chimneys to subways. There are 10 products in this collection: 1) COVER: The manhole lid, urban element different in every city, often disregarded, is appraised again by giving it the double function of low table and container thanks to the rotating lid, which reveals a space beneath it; the lid is made of tempered glass enriched by the digital printing. …… 2) BIKE: The cycle path, interpreted as the planoaltimetrical development of the route along which the bicycles move freely, is the basic concept for the realization of this magazine rack. …… 3) ABBEY: Zebra crossing is an urban element which has become famous thanks to the renowned picture of the Beatles crossing Abbey Road; this element is used as concept for the realization of a low table. …… 4) BROADWAY: The most famous streets in the world seen from the satellite turn into a wall bookcase. Wall bookcase inspired by the celebrated Broadway of New York. The street crosses several famous areas of the city, such as Time Square, and many of its boroughs, among which Manhattan and the Bronx. …… 5) CHAMPS ELYSEES: The most famous streets in the world seen from the satellite turn into a wall bookcase. Wall bookcase that takes inspiration from the Avenue des Champs Élysées, famous street in Paris, renowned to be one the widest and most majestic of the capital, filled with cinemas, cafés and luxury specialty shops. …… 6) THE STRIP: The most famous streets in the world seen from the satellite turn into a wall bookcase.
