Posted: 23 May 2012 05:52 AM PDT Italian design studio msX2 recently has completed the restyling of a interior project for a software engineering company office in San Miniato (PISA), Italy. The neutral environment proposes a silent welcome, giving the sensation to enter an empty space, where the human and technological presence is shrank, hide and embedded into the habitat elements: behind the surfaces, underneath the desks, into the stripes. The suspended silence in this minimal environment creates the sensation of an awaiting space. The functional transition waiting/walking is defined by a chromatic gesture enlightening the structural envelope composition: from the intersection between two stripes rise the break and the linear recomposition of the whole. The caesura created by a black sign, central and leading actor, is recomposed through the crossing of a white stripe, suspended and faint, emanating an intense but diffused light that creates undefined shadows and lights up the room by reflection, attenuating contrasts. Along the light path [NoBody200Up+Reo, Deltalight] the space seems to be cut by a directional flux. Functions, spaces and surfaces are drawn by thin lines of shadow, plans and operative volumes are solid and massive, homogeneous and integrated in the environment, statically suspended. In the white area Toy seatings [design P.Starck for Driade] maintain the composition linearity, and the only coloured and soft signs, green La Bohème pouffes [design P.Stark for Kartell] slightly contribute to the atmosphere personalization. Welcome in a colour and light defined space. + Project credits / dataDesign: msX2 + About msX2A dynamic architecture and design award winning Italian young firm developing experimentation, innovation, technology and material research, new living and socializing spaces analysis trough multidisciplinary and multilevel designing, in a continuous quest for a emotional exciting linear style, simple and surprising.
