Lexington Avenue Agency \ Masquespacio Posted: 10 Oct 2011 08:38 AM PDT Masquespacio has completed the Lexington Avenue Agency interior project. + Design statement by MasquespacioWhen our client contacted us he explained us he wanted to create a new model agency with the name Lexington Avenue Agency in our city, Valencia, with an urban but sofisticated image. Esto combinado con mobiliario blanco de oficina y un suelo blanco para crear un espacio urbano y sofisticado a la vez. First of all we created a serie of identy images after a large studie of the famous Lexington Avenue from New York. We select the colours black and yellow, very representative for the yellow cabs together with a serie of images from the yellow cabs and New York skyscrapers. After the chose from our client for one of our image designs we adapted it to its desires and started to think about the interior design, in which both parts, the client and our studio where surely convinced that it needed to be corporative and diferent. Primarily the office needed to be divided in 2 spaces and to be transparent to receive in both spaces the natural light. We choose an industrial curtain combined with a sticker from the identity logo to gave the office a first touch of identy and urban style. In the first room you can see the incorporation of the black and yellow lines from the logo giving it an extra corporative touch. We also choose to reflect the black and yellow lines in the second room but in a lesser exent to evitate that the project terminated to be overloaded. In furniture we choose for renamed brands from Spain, but not habitual to use in our country. We opted for furniture from Uno Design by Javier Mariscal and the ecofriendly Eiffel, a recycled paper stool from the pretty new RS Barcelona. This combinated with white office furniture and a white floor to create the urban and sofisticated touch. The corner lamp was created to give an extra industrial touch to this sofisticated and urban image. + All images and drawings courtesy Masquespacio |
OKRA realizes architectonic intervention in Moscow at Sretenka Design Week Posted: 10 Oct 2011 07:29 AM PDT At the opening of the Sretenka Design Week two objects, designed by OKRA are placed on a prominent spot on Tsvetnoy Bul'var in Moscow. The objects are designed as a demonstration model for interventions in public realm in Sretenka, one of Moscow's oldest neighbourhoods. The objects are exemplary for the way interventions in public realm can take place, being a catalyst for development of spaces. OKRA has designed the two elements, 'objects of desire', in a way that they can be linked in different ways. These modules form different features, depending on place and function, and when more elements are used, they even can be built to larger units, horizontally and vertically positioned. The structure can be adapted, extended, or moved, thus creating new and possibilities. The design of the objects is made in a way that modular L objects form a basis for interplay between two or objects of a different color. The objects are constructed, using ArchSkin, material produced in Moscow. Colors are shosen in a way that the 'Objects of desire' present themselves as modern objects in public realm. At this moment the 'objects of desire' are an intervention on the micro scale, having positive effects on the way public realm works for people. They are now situated on Tsvetnoy Bul'var, however they can also be used on other places in Sretenka. Combinations of the elements can be a seating object, a public table, or a playground object. Related to position and combination they can activate several green spaces in the urban tissue. The idea is that the 'objects of desire' are a starting point for thoughts on changing public realm in Sretenka. A new constellation of public and semi-public spaces will be possible, new routes will be linked to these places and there will be new places where people of Moscow will enjoy their daily environment. |
