Andrea Tognon Architecture atelier | Andrea Tognon Architecture

Posted: 18 Apr 2011 01:21 AM PDT

This is the new atelier space of Andrea Tognon Architecture in Milan. The project is a work in progress, an occasion to experiment with ideas of simplicity but with a strong spatial and emotional impact.

+ Designer’s statment

The design approach is a real work in progress. First we observed the spaces and worked in them before we actually decided any interventions. The spaces in the office PALAZZINA were quite banal. We started to play with the existing and underlying volumes and spaces only through color. We began from a gray base color adding different pigments for each room, defining imperceptible sequences of spaces. We played with existing neon lights revisiting them just with color tape to warm up the light and give it emotional value. Then we unified different buildings through applying black color, with which we turned outside spaces to spaces with interior feeling.

+MOOD refreshed!

Posted: 18 Apr 2011 01:27 AM PDT

We’ve refreshed our site design and layout with some new features. This is a result of what our readers/friends suggested to us during the survey in past few months. The major change of course is the overall layout, and we’ve also integrated the user friendly image gallery feature into the article post, which you can click to the particular image and enlarge it as big as possible, meanwhile, if you noticed, that’s a gallery below the big size image, so you can select whichever image that you find interesting.

We’ve also categorized the projects in our homepage to allow better browsing experience in related topics. Please let us know if you have any idea/suggestion in our newly design layout and features.

For those have submitted your projects to us in last few days, no worries, we’ve got them and will get published soon. We also apologize for any inconvenience caused during our site down yesterday. Thank you for your patience and support.

Happy reading!
