Award-winning London based designer Timothy Schreiber is pleased to announce the launch of the Plooop Chair at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 8-12 February 2011. Succeeding the sleek Plooop Armchair which debuted last year at London's 100% Design Fair, the Plooop Chair features the unique triple plywood loop formation Schreiber deftly crafts in this series.
By applying CNC-assisted cutting along with advanced traditional craftsmanship he creates a work of seamless quality with a contemporary edge. The continuous plywood rings touch and detach at key points, melding the chair's structural elements in one fluid motion and creating an elegant and harmonious form.

+ About Timothy Schreiber
Highly driven by today's advancements in digital technology Schreiber implements cutting edge equipment and techniques from development to finished product. Schreiber's designs are the outcome of his ambition to delve into and challenge boundaries between architecture, digital design, manufacturing methods and social/environmental sustainability. Through this exploration he has achieved an award-winning body of work which includes the iconic Morphogenesis chaise and the artificial intelligence "Universal Table Generator," which received the coveted Red-Dot Design Award and has resulted in the "e-volved" table now produced by Dutch high-end manufacturer FueraDentro.
After earning his degree in Architecture and Design at Bauhaus University, Germany and Westminster University in London, Schreiber has worked with today's leading architectural practices and has collaborated with high-profile companies across Europe, Australia and Asia. During this time he has worked on some of today's most exciting projects such as the 2008 Beijing Olympics Watercube. He founded his own studio in London in 2005 focussing on furniture and object design.

FLOW SIDE TABLE:
Flow side tables are a limited edition of 12 round coffee tables manufactured in the United Kingdom by one of the country's leading automotive prototype makers. Marrying contemporary high end CAD/CAM design and manufacturing methods with the traditional craftsmanship of the local workforce, the stainless steel tables are made entirely from hand formed and assembled elements which are subsequently hand polished to a super high quality mirror finish.

Height: 320mm
Diameter: 900mm
Material: mirror polished stainless steel

EVOLVED TABLE:
The design of the evolved tables was conceived from the natural process of "growth". This concept was first translated into an initial digital model, which was subsequently optimized using digital structural and artificial intelligence algorithms. With flowing, organic design, evocative of natural forms, the stainless steel cast and brilliant hand-polished finish base is complimented by a transparent round glass table top. The three table legs branching, smoothly growing together in a solid and stable base can be admired from any direction.
Dimensions:
Height: 720mm
Diameter: 1500mm
Material: polished aluminium, glass top

MORPHOGENESIS CHAISE:
Morphogenesis Chaise is an attempt to learn from natural microstructures and the evolution of living creatures and turn the gained knowledge into an intelligent and contemporary design for a chaise longue. The key stylistic elements of the chaise are the magnified shapes of jointless , structurally active lattice systems. It resembles the evolutionary trend of living creatures which is determined by the fundamental biological principle of natural selection on the criterion of efficiency, which implies minimum expenditure of material and effort to achieve a given performance. Utilizing those optimised construction principles the design of this chaise longue is a close emulation of naturally evolving systems.
Dimensions:
Height: 700mm
Width: 500mm
Length: 1500mm
Material: carbon fibre base, upholstery

PLOOOP:
Plooop's design was inspired by the manufacturing techniques of plywood and bentwood furniture of the 20th century. However, as technology has progressed and aesthetic perception has changed the plooop chair seems to consist of nothing else but 4 continuous loops of plywood. No additional connectors or other secondary elements are visible and all functionally elements (seat, back and arm rests) emerge on various positions from the loops through splitting and re-merging their various plywood layers.
Dimensions:
Height: 750mm
Width: 500mm
Length: 600mm
Material: Shina Plywood

JO-08:
Jo-08 nesting tables are a series of digitally designed and manufactured side table. No drawing was ever created to manufacture these items. A digital model was sent directly to the manufacturer, who used CAD/CAM direct manufacturing tools.
Dimensions:
Height: 440mm
Width: 440mm
Length: 400mm
Material: transparent acrylic
