On second storey all bedrooms are orientated toward North & South side in the center space there is a small living room on the second storey as a gathering space for family members and all bathrooms at this level are arranged stacked above the bathrooms below. Alla Scala Concept | OOBIQ Architects Posted: 07 Aug 2010 08:57 AM PDT OOBIQ Architects, an Italian design firm based in Hong Kong has recently completed the retail design for Alla Scala Concept in Shen Zhen, China. + Project description, text by Samuele Martelli, Giambattista BurdoApproaching to a concept design for a new brand is generally very challenging for designers. When in our daily work we cooperate with fashion brands which are already exist, we have to deal with their identity built in the market. So we definitely have to create a connection between our new ideas and the previous impression generated to customers without changing too much. On the opposite, designers do not have to deal with any background for building a completely new image for a brand which is soon to be launched in the market, but this may probably be a more difficult task. Then we have always to remember that the success of a brand will be influenced also from the image we are creating. So it is a more challenging task for designers. + Project credits / dataProject: Alla Scala Flagship Store (Fashion Retail) + About OOBIQ ArchitectsOOBIQ Architects is an award-winning architectural and design firm based in Hong Kong, with partner offices in Florence, Beijing and Tehran. Beads Lighting Collection | Winnie Lui Posted: 07 Aug 2010 06:50 AM PDT The Beads light design by Winnie Lui for Innermost UK, captures light and space. These hovering molecules of light are spectacular as they seem to adhere together with the no real visible fixings. The designer, Winnie Lui, graduated from London's Central Saint Martins College in Fashion, Communication and Promotion and then acquired silver smithing skills from a jewellery designer. This fusion of skills enabled her to be able to tie the different elements together to create a beautiful resolve. The challenge of this lighting fitting was to create a design, which appeared to just sit together, almost through pure magnetism and could also be arranged into different styles such as the PENTA or the OCTO. The lights are constructed from spun steel and polycarbonate and can be finished in chrome, copper or black gloss reflective surfaces. The design team at Innermost were able to find a neat solution using a tri based polycarbonate connector to unite the form. Satelight is fortunate to be able to represent these for the commercial market in Australia. + For more information of the product, please visit Satelight Design at http://www.satelight.com.au.
