Nasse Arm Chair + Axe Genoa | Marco Stefanini Posted: 26 Jun 2010 09:44 AM PDT Italian designer Marco Stefanini has created the playful and colorful Nasse Arm Chair and Axe Genoa. Nasse Arm Chair + Material: clear acrylic, stainless steel, marine cord Axe Genoa + Material: stainless steel, marine cord + About Marco Giovanni StefaniniMarco Giovanni Stefanini was born in Berne in 1960. Attracted by archaic forms of expression and prehistoric art, he studied in Rome and at the Fine Arts Academy in Bologna. As a painter and sculptor Marco has exhibited extensively throughout Italy. His love of form naturally took him into the design world and the day to day objects which could be created with natural materials such as wood, glass, stone and iron. Marco’s involvement in the art and design community includes founder of the Interno Gallery for young artists, the design company Dum-Dum, partner and artistic director of the Art Cad Escando literary circle in Parma and most recently the Dilmos Gallery in Milan. Marcos has also participated in design collaborations with companies such as Flo, the innovative lighting company. The great versatility in the artistic life of Marco culminated in what he considers his ultimate masterpiece, the restoration of an aqueduct from 1915 which became the artist’s home and studio. The balance between raw material and artistic creation, and a sort of ethereal minimalism came together in what the French TV station TF1 describes as one of the worlds most exceptional homes, a thought echoed by several design magazines including Italy’s Interni. In short, Marco’s body of work, his consistency and process of expression move him beyond trends and markets. Marco’s pieces are made by the artist and are one of a kind. + Please visit outdoorzgallery for more information.

Kazula Rocker + Material: 4mm stainless steel This chair is available for sale in outdoorzgallery. + About Erik GriffioenErik Griffioen didn't set out to be a designer but at some point in the creative process design found him. Says Griffioen “My work has to be exciting from every angle, have character, beauty and quality. And most of all: it has to be comfortable.” After a few years he changed his way of working and broke with his own rules. He started designing more intuitively and more from his imagination but without losing his visual signature. This opened another creative door and resulted in a great number of new designs. Erik Griffioen graduated fine arts in 2001 in Enschede Holland. After a few years of making prototypes in his free time he made his debut in Belgium at Interieur 08 in November 2008. He then went to the Salone del Mobile in Milan 2009. He has since then shown work at the Stockholm Furniture Fair, the Homes and Interiors Scotland Exhibition in Glasgow, The Affordable Art Fair in Amsterdam and most recently he was in England for the London Design Festival where he showed work at 100 % design.
