A building that needs to dialogue with the city. Piero Ceratti developed a concept design for a mountain hut/shelter powered by wind turbines. This alpine hut can be installed in very extreme site, it minimize the point of contact with the rocky ground. the main structure consists of 4 wooden arcs anchored to the rock with 8 steel base plates, secondary structure is realized with 4 couple of l wooden beam fixed to the 4 arcs.  Eagle Nest Hut - wind power, drawing courtesy Piero Ceratti The interior shell is assembled with preformed wooden insulated panels of 20 cm thickness, all the exterior surfaces are covered with red metal seam standing. Energy is provided with 80 micro wind turbines that charge 18 lithium battery pack located over the changing room, water is supplied by 2 water tank filled by a nearby water source.  Eagle Nest Hut - wind power, drawing courtesy Piero Ceratti Eagle nest hut it's equipped with: 10 bunk beds, 1 wc, 10 backpack storage, 1 changing room, 1 shower, 1 kitchen with 10 seat place.  Eagle Nest Hut - wind power, drawing courtesy Piero Ceratti Alpine hut provides energy with micro wind turbines, through the rotation of 80 micro turbines the generators send electrical energy to the 18 lithium battery packs, where energy is stored for future use. All the fixture within the hut are electrical energy saving, such us led lights. A very simple aeration system, controlled with mechanical flaps, completes the system. the passage between interior and exterior is regulated by the filter created by the two entry doors, in order to save interior climate comfort. El Bruc Residential, is located just outside the old town centre of El Bruc. It is a new public building for single-family housing development, with a social and cultural use, which consists in a multiuse room for the neighbors, a little bar and a toilet. The architect was asked to design a neighborhood meeting point, a place for popular parties and celebrations, and other activities such as conferences and courses. It is planned for a capacity of 20-30 people simultaneously and located next to a public playground and a small sports court for the community.  El Bruc Residencial, image courtesy David Oliva + Elisenda Planas The program areas are distributed in just one floor. A covered entrance porch, communicates directly with the multipurpose room. At the opposite end of the entrance, there are other complementary services (small bar, toilet, storage and cleaning room). It is a very honest and plain building, a wysiwyg building. Due to the small size of the building, it provides an image of unity and compactness of the material. The geometry clearly defines people and light entrance volumes. The result is an integral, durable and engaging building.
