From a small lot with it's unique implantation, this project has raised early on a couple of challenges… and along with them, ideas emerged.

The box housing deviates from the gable to create a vertical yard (glass box), with a straight ladder connecting all floors, an allusion to the famous stairs of Alfama, running between the all 4 floors walls and linking the various dimensions.

This courtyard is the heart of the house, bringing light to the interior, enhancing the main entrance and creating a real exterior/interior relationship.

In terms of material, we chose to polish the rectangular form and give the block the face of a tree, making it one more element of the square, which resulted together with the existing tree and water fountain, in a triad.

The program was set up almost automatically, the technical services and garage with direct access from the street, the first floor holding the private area of the house. The second floor is the social area, with a direct connection to the coverage, extending social into outdoors, being the view related to the social side and the private area to both square and Embassy, the setting of a typical Lisbon experience, which is a truly intimate relationship between quarters.

Therefore, this project is in fact a mini lung and an example of sustainability for the city of Lisbon, keeping the principles of a living typical habitat and a relationship with the outside, assuming a revitalizing urban role.

Its walls are completely covered with vegetation, creating a vertical garden, filled with around 4500 plants from 25 different Iberian and Mediterranean varieties which occupies 100 square meters. So, short levels of water consumption are guaranteed as well as little gardening challenges. Different fragrance are spread throughout the 4 floors. For example, in the swimming pool you will have the flavor of saffron, in the bedroom, lavender, in the living-room, rosemary.

Implemented in the heart of a busy city, the vertical garden creates an unique link with nature and an unexpected atmosphere.

EL SOMBRERO – courtesy Studio 06

New collection of projects that designed by Studio 06 for Youtool and produced by Curti Metallo in 2012, italian manufacturer of Bologna.

There are 3 products in this collection:

EL SOMBRERO (coffee table):
The purity of form and proportion studied in detail make EL SOMBRERO an ironic object of desire. The low table, powder coated steel, is available in three colour finishes: all white, white with red central container, white with yellow goose beak center container. Research on the composition and the simple modular construction allows installation in three moves and four screws. For the iconic character and strong identity, EL SOMBRERO is suitable to house both in contract contexts. The multiplication of parts make it a spectacular complement to furnish the lobby of hotels, showrooms, offices and lounges.

SADDLE (stool):
The seat is made by folding a single sheet that mimics the saddle of cowboys and invites you to ride it. The small size and the linearity of the slide structure enable Saddle to be stackable. Saddle is available in chrome-plated steel or white frame, powder coated, with declension of “saddle” in three colors: white, red, yellow goose beak. The formal simplicity gives Saddle, named and in fact, a strong sculptural character. The resistance of the blends and the lightness of the design, making it versatile for indoor intimate Saddle and contract spaces.

ICS (stool):
The essentiality of the design and dimensions of ICS make it very versatile. The seat is made by folding a single sheet iron and steel reaches this visual results of extreme lightness, like origami. ICS is available in three colors: white, red, yellow goose beak. The clear reduction of composition make ICS, and as such, suitable for furnishing intimate spaces and collective spaces.  The stylization makes ICS a transverse seating and give it a great appeal.

Once again mode:lina accepted a challenge, to create a temporary store for Swedish watch brand TRIWA. Goals, similar to previous year, were:

• Use of renewable materials
• Low cost
• Speed of constructing

… but above all, to further increase global brand awareness.  Previous cooperation between the two exceeded by far client's expectations – pictures of the store were published around the globe, both online and offline.

Once more, designers decided to use a very well known raw material – paperboard. Only this time it was rolled into tubes. Over 900 of paper tubes, wrapped with ratchet-straps around cabinets built from raw OSB wood panels.

Fillmore Park offers 32 affordable new for sale units for first-time homebuyers who are working families or individuals earning between 70 and 100% of the area medium income.

Flats and townhouses with outdoor patios ring a private landscaped courtyard, creating a quiet community just a block from the bustling Fillmore District, within walking distance to shopping, entertainment, and transportation. Units range from one to three bedrooms. The four-story complex is clad in fiber-cement boards, with one bay sheathed in copper.

Referencing the Fillmore District's long history as a center for live musical performances, the garden court features a planter in the form of a guitar, filled with drought-tolerant aloes. One of the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency's last projects to be built, the 57,402-squarefoot complex is part of the agency's limited equity program, which seeks to increase affordable homeownership opportunities for San Franciscans.

Twenty-four parking spaces are tucked underground.
